Write code for yourself

I was talking to a friend yesterday. We were discussing the licensing options for personal projects, whether to use something like the AGPLv3 or an anti-rainforest-company licenses.

I was telling him that the code we write in our free time should be so custom, so special purpose that it should not be made with the intention of making it useful to anyone else.

For many years now, I had wanted to write some lisp for fun. I have not managed to do so until today because I was trying to write something good, something useful.

This site is generated by an extremely amateur static site generator that I built in college 12 years ago. I finally got around to updating it today as I wanted to setup a journaling/notes system where I could write more frequently without worrying about the level of polish.

This is the second post in the same day. Guess the system is working.
